Sarah Wetmore

As a Principal, Sarah is a recent transplant from Boston with five years of transportation engineering experience in dense urban environments. She is excited to bring her experience with and passion for sustainable transportation to Houston. She has not owned a car for the past four years and is eager to help more Houstonians realize how easy it is to live here car-free.

Her work for TEI includes intersection design, urban interchange design, street-rail crossing gate design, traffic modeling, and school traffic operations studies. In Boston, Sarah worked on a variety of complex, mixed-use land development projects planned for urban areas including Boston and Cambridge. Her primary responsibility was to evaluate the transportation impacts of planned developments and recommend mitigation strategies to reduce traffic congestion and support transit trips.

Sarah has been active in Urban Land Institute (ULI) and was a member of the Real Estate Advisory Committee providing guidance and recommendations to local communities through Technical Assistance Panels (TAPs). She is also a LEED Green Associate and Envision certified. Sarah is licensed as a Civil Engineer in both Texas and Massachusetts.

Sarah graduated from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) in New York with a BS in Civil Engineering and an ME in Transportation Engineering. While at RPI she was a member of the Women’s Basketball team and captained the team for two years. She is passionate about sport and continues to play basketball competitively.
